Talk + Tour
The session, "Bart to the future: A historical perspective of modern transit design" was presented at California Preservation Foundation’s (CPF) 2018 annual conference. Bay Area Rapid Transit’s (BART) original train stations were designed by prominent architects of the region's mid-century modern design movement such as Ernest Born, William Wurster, SOM and Gardner Dailey. Panelists for the session under the Conference Track, "Machine Age to the Digital Age: The Future of Modernism" included Christopher VerPlanck and David Weinstein with Sandhya as the session leader.
As a board member of DOCOMOMO's Northern California Chapter, Sandhya also presented tours to educate the public on BART's unique design mandate for its station buildings.
