Vernacular approach to Passive Solar Design

Sandhya presented her research at the Annual National Solar Conference of American Solar Energy Society, 2023 held at UC Boulder, Colorado. Her paper describes vernacular architecture and its response to climate, culture and local resources. It evaluates the working, climatic response, design and advantages of passive solar design strategies found in vernacular dwellings from around the world. Sandhya paper describes the benefits of integrating passive solar design with attributes of vernacular architecture to enhance habitability, purpose and bioclimatic response in contemporary spaces.
