Suburban ecochic

MODESTO, CA

Sustainability
This nondescript 3015 sq ft two storey suburban tract home had undertones of a Victorian aesthetic. Remodel of all three bathrooms and a kitchen entailed use of salvaged stone counters, new energy star appliances and low flow plumbing fixtures. Refurbished wood cabinets, new hardware and ceramic tiles, reframed mirrors and low voc painted walls breathe fresh materials. Sustainability was a priority in local materials selection, recycling demolished materials and integrating old finishes with new, stylistically.

Eco-Conscious Design
The interior design for four bedrooms and a loft, living and dining area, family lounge and den includes contemporary furnishings, upgraded finishes and simple details revealing a modern nuance that holds onto its subdued colors with occasional splashes of accents. Embellishments such as ceiling moldings, metal curtain rods, fabric window treatments, art and artifacts and a refaced stone fireplace infuse much needed style in an environmentally friendly way.
