The Peninsula Jewish Community Center (PJCC) is a five building, 141,700 sq ft facility serving families, seniors, children and the larger community in and around Foster City. All buildings are Type V-1 hr with automatic sprinkler systems in lieu of the one hour construction. The 36, 249 sq ft gymnasium with day care and natatorium and the proposed 19,002 sq ft cultural arts center are both in Type II. A two storey K-5 school with multipurpose room and chapel covers 40,833 sq ft and the Early Childhood Education (ECE) building has 22,210 sq ft with administration offices, preschool and toddler support. A second floor bridge connects the gymnasium to the 37,125 sq ft administration building a buzz with activity in the café, main lobby, fitness center, adult education rooms, offices, aerobics and exercise rooms.
As one of the project managers and the lead in preparing two volumes of specifications, coordinating a team of twenty consultants and twelve designers preparing permit sets, Sandhya was the key presenter and liaison for FFA at client, school board and design build contractor meetings.
